Nokia Tube iPhone Killer

Nokia Tube ‘iPhone killer’ to come with Java, Flash, GPS and DVB-H mobile TV built in. Nokia Tube will be based on the Series 60 smartphone OS. The moniker is a codename at present, but being the slang name for TV it would suggest the device will be targeted at the mobile video segment.

The Tube will have Java built in as a standard, which would give it at least one competitive advantage over Apple’s current iPhone, according to Tom Libretto, vice president of Forum Nokia. Nokia did not disclose exactly when the Tube might be ready for distribution. However, Greengart said Nokia has consistently promised to deliver a touchscreen mobile phone before the end of 2008.
